Key Responsibilities

The key focus of this role is to fill existing gaps in how our team approaches and leverages quantitative research. This includes:

  • Identify and fill knowledge gaps: Analyze existing UX research processes to identify areas where quantitative data can add value, addressing gaps where qualitative insights alone are insufficient.
  • Develop data-backed hypotheses: Work closely with UX designers, product managers, and developers to formulate hypotheses and validate them with data, closing gaps in user feedback and behaviour tracking.
  • Implement data analysis: Design, run, and analyze large-scale A/B tests, and behavioural data to fill gaps in our understanding of user journeys and pain points.
  • Key metrics definition: Define critical success metrics for new features and existing products that are currently lacking in measurement.
  • Collaborate to fill research voids: Partner with qualitative researchers to balance and integrate quantitative insights, ensuring a more holistic understanding of users.
  • Proactively address blind spots: Work cross-functionally to identify areas where data collection and user understanding are lacking, offering solutions to bridge these gaps.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field such as Human-Computer Interaction, Statistics, Data Science, or a related discipline.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in quantitative UX research, with a focus on filling critical data gaps.
  • Proven experience in quantitative data collection methods like surveys, A/B tests, and behavioural analytics.

Skills:

  • Expertise in research methodologies that can uncover areas of user behavior currently not captured by the team.
  • Proficiency in statistical tools (e.g., R, Python, SQL) to analyze and interpret large data sets, particularly those that have been overlooked or underutilized.
  • Experience working with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to present actionable insights clearly and address blind spots in user understanding.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to implement and track quantitative studies that complement ongoing qualitative research efforts.

  • Data-driven Insight Generation: Skilled at identifying key areas where the team lacks quantitative insights and generating actionable data to address these gaps.
  • Cross-team Collaboration: Strong ability to work with UX designers and product teams to ensure all angles of user behaviour are understood.
  • Problem-solving: Adept at recognizing and filling research voids where current methodologies do not provide sufficient insight.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills to present findings and fill gaps in current user journey understanding to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive Learning: Continuously seeks out opportunities to improve and fill knowledge gaps within the UX team, pushing for data-driven solutions to unknowns.
