Job Purpose
Lead and manage all activities of the Operations organization across assigned region,
Preventive maintenance, non-routine maintenance, Diesel supply management, site load management, RMS management, Site access
Key Responsibilities
- Validate and review the diesel allocation pre- and during the circle and identify any change in the allocation plan for escalation.
- Interface with the diesel management team in the event of deviation from the diesel loading plan to ensure schedule adherence.
- Receive reports from Regional Technical Operations Managers on diesel delivery and confirm the need for diesel intervention to the head of energy management and affected site maintenance contractor (SMC) with Director, regional operations approval.
- Intervene and interface with vendor on all issues arising from deviations in the maintenance plan and trigger the maintenance intervention or non-routine maintenance process. Review BOQ for non-routine maintenance and share with Network assurance for benchmarking from supply chain to ensure a quality site.
- Sign off on the Job Completion Certificate (JCC) for all maintenance work carried out within the region.
- Ensure implementation of the preventive maintenance plan.
- Ensure all Snags on site are closed.
- Maintain good power uptime as per SLA with less fault count and zero penalties.
- Ensure SLA fulfillment for the priority site
- Approve the Material Requisition form for request of materials for in-house maintenance. Stay informed of issues relating to Remote Monitoring System (RMS) and GEM on sites across assigned region. Monitor resolution of such issues.
- Raise request to asset management team for asset replacement and seek final approval.
- Review the performance of individual team members and complete appraisals in accordance with the employee performance appraisal procedures and time schedules.
- Support the Director, Regional Operations to ensure team members across assigned region effectively carry out their responsibilities.
- Coach and train the O&M team to ensure understanding of the objectives and goals of the department, create awareness of set targets/requirements, and regularly review their training needs. Develop metrics required to measure business processes and performance, build tools and job aids for monitoring performance, and identify performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention in critical areas for constant improvement.
- Provide inputs to annual budgetary plans for the region and monitor and track Capex and Opex trends in the region for effectiveness and functionality.
- Provide inputs to the continuous development of site maintenance processes. Continually assess operational and business continuity risks and provide timely awareness well as deploying mitigating initiatives.
- Achieve productivity gains and manage budget to ensure operational and financial goals are met.
- Monitor business performance against plan and adjust as needed.
- Ensure customer satisfaction, high levels of service and continuous improvement efforts to drive repeated business and customer loyalty in the region.
- Identify and develop possibilities for future business growth, including possible acquisitions bringing them to the attention of the relevant team for further investigation and possible next steps. Effectively collaborate across functions (working in the matrix) to build joint objectives to reach regional goals.

- Maintain HSSE compliance at all levels with zero fatalities.

Qualifications & Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering or related discipline.
- Advanced degree in Engineering, MBA and/ or relevant professional certification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, etc) will be an asset.
- +10 years’ relevant experience in telecoms operations and maintenance.
