CcHub functions at the heart of Nigeria’s technology innovation ecosystem as a place to: facilitate creative thinking and collaborative problem solving encourage technology innovation for improved social accountability in Nigeria incubate novel tech ideas that promotes good governance/provision of public services encourage shared accountability between technologist & innovators serve as a living lab for prototyping and testing socially minded tech tools build new skills and competencies connect, share, create and find expertise The Hub act as a cushy nest designed to accelerate the successful development of social tech ventures through an array of business support resources and services, developed and orchestrated by the hub management and offered both in the space and through our network of partners. In addition, the hub leads co-creation initiatives aimed at creating novel technologically driven solutions to the myriad social challenges facing the average Nigerian. The Hub also network stakeholders from diverse walks of life to create these solutions and also encourage social accountability through social creativity activating knowledge networks harnessing resources and imagination across society not just within public service professions and institutions

 

Job Description

  • The Senior Program Manager is a key member of the Startup Support Unit, responsible for designing and executing high-impact programs to foster the growth of startups across the continent.
  • This role encompasses the end-to-end management of assigned programs, including design, planning, resource allocation, coordination, and reporting.
  • The Senior Program Manager oversees the application, selection, and onboarding of startups, manages program teams, and acts as a dedicated resource for startups, supporting their success and identifying relevant opportunities to ensure all programs meet the objectives of CcHUB and its strategic partners.
  • The Senior Program Manager actively engages with entrepreneurs, experts, and partners, fostering strong relationships within the startup ecosystem.
  • Staying abreast of emerging trends and technologies in the innovation ecosystem is crucial for this role.
  • This position demands meticulous attention to detail and expertise in productivity tools.
  • Additionally, the Senior Program Manager collaborates with the Head of Startup Support to assist other program teams within the unit.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Design, Implementation, and Oversight:

  • Collaborate with the Head of Startup Support to design, develop, and oversee the successful execution of strategic programs, ensuring alignment with strategic aims and objectives.
  • Initiate and manage new program management initiatives, ensuring adherence to design thinking methodology, program management frameworks, company policies, and legal guidelines.
  • Oversee the end-to-end project execution process, including deadlines, milestones, resource allocation, and the engagement of external resources when necessary.
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of high-quality program events, managing all aspects from publicity and invitations to vendor engagement and risk management.
  • Independently develop and deliver comprehensive program proposals to stakeholders and partners.
  • Effectively collaborate with multiple stakeholders from diverse cultures to achieve set objectives.

Program Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:

  • Monitor and ensure the timeliness, quality, and accuracy of program activities ensuring compliance with contractual and program commitments.
  • Develop, implement, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility, ensuring targets are met and reported on.
  • Facilitate effective communication and information flow among partners and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and submit timely, high-quality program and project performance reports in accordance with established standards and guidelines.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with program activities.

Startup Support and Innovation Management:

  • Provide basic guidance on product, talent, marketing, and investment needs of the startups including reviewing pitch decks and appropriately matching startups with the right experts.
  • Lead capacity building and workshop sessions for startups, and partners.
  • Contribute to research and thought leadership resources on startup support and innovation.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Collaborate with the Head of Startup Support to assess and develop team capacity, ensuring the necessary skills and competencies are in place to achieve unit and organizational goals.
  • Foster an empowering and collaborative work environment, promoting team building and aligning with the company's values, culture, and principles.
  • Assign performance goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct comprehensive performance assessments to support the professional development of team members.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:

  • A good first degree in Technology, Business Management, or a related field is preferred (an advanced degree in business, innovation or technology management will be an added advantage).
  • Minimum of 8+ years experience in program/project management within the startup space, enterprise development, venture funding, or management consulting.
  • Entrepreneurial experience or experience working in entrepreneurial environments such as incubators and accelerators is a must.
  • Experience in designing and creating learning content for innovation programs, workshops and training.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Leadership and stakeholder management experience.
  • Passion for technology, startups, and innovation, with a comprehensive understanding of the technology ecosystem.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Exceptional ability for self-directed learning and rapid application of knowledge.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic fast-paced environment with clear expectations.
  • Systems thinking approach with the ability to design and implement scalable processes.
  • Organized, resourceful, and able to take initiative and make sound decisions.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking skills.
  • Strong emotional intelligence, active listening skills, and high empathy.
  • Collaborative team player who can effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Google suites.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus but not required.
  • Willingness to travel.
