Description

  • We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Social Media Manager to join our founding team. This role is not just about managing our social media channels; it's about crafting and executing a strategy that will build our brand from the ground up, engage a growing audience, and position us as a leader in our industry.
  • Africa is the world's youngest continent and expanding the fastest. The number of young people working in Africa will rise to 375 million by 2030.
  • The International Monetary Fund estimates that by 2035, there will be more young Africans joining the workforce each year than there are in the rest of the world put together due to population growth on the continent.
  • The number of young individuals looking for work is much higher than the number of opportunities that are open to them. The skills of young people entering the workforce and the needs of companies are also out of sync.
  • Many young people will have trouble finding employment to better their living conditions if nothing is done.
  • We have spent the last six months investigating the finest methods for creating the talent workflow system that will assist in matching African talents with opportunities. Currently, at the stage of executing the prototype system, business processes while some aspect is live in production.
  • We'll close the skills gap and provide African talent greater job chances.
  • The founders are individuals with top academic background, professional experience in leading companies at leadership positions & strong technical background.
  • The aim of the company is to become a “unicorn” (one-billion-dollar valuation) in the next 3-5 years as the product-market is considerably validated.
  • The company’s values are centered on meritocracy, reason, entrepreneurship, and empathy.
  • The individuals who will be hired at this position will be given a significant amount of equity given that the company is at execution stage.
  • The person is fully remote.
  • We are at a critical stage in our growth and have an urgent need for a Chief Revenue Officer. Ideally, we want someone with previous startup experience who has experience in all phases of the design process.
  • This is a growing startup, there is no salary until we can start generating revenue and funding. Founder is open to team members having a main job until funding and revenue is secured.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development: Create and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with our brand voice, target audience, and business goals.
  • Content Creation: Develop engaging content, including posts, stories, and videos, tailored to each platform (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Community Management: Foster and grow our online community, by responding to comments, engaging with followers, and building strong relationships with influencers.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on social media performance, using insights to optimize content and strategies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our marketing, product, and design teams to ensure cohesive messaging across all channels.
  • Growth Hacking: Experiment with new strategies, platforms, and content types to accelerate growth and drive engagement.

Requirements
What We’re Looking For:

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience: 10+ years of social media management experience, preferably in a startup environment.
  • Creativity: A knack for crafting compelling stories and visuals that resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to think both strategically and creatively, balancing long-term goals with immediate needs.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong understanding of social media metrics and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
  • Passion: Genuine excitement about joining an early-stage startup and contributing to its success.
