Kano Independent Research Centre Trust (KIRCT) was established by Pfizer Inc. for the people of Kano State in Nigeria with the purpose of conducting Bio-medical (and Healthcare) Research on communicable and non-communicable diseases of public Health importance in Nigeria and the African continent. The Centre also conducts programmes for workforce development in public health. Pfizer Inc. is fully funding the activities of the Centre through some Memorandum of Understanding which is projected to continue for the next several years.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement social media strategies to enhance research visibility and engagement
- Create engaging content showcasing research findings and events.
- Analyze engagement metrics to optimize campaign effectiveness.
- Collaborate with researchers to simplify complex data for social media platforms (e.g Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook etc).
- Manage online communities and address research-related inquiries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mass communication, Information and Communication Technology, Information Technology or related field.
- Certification in Media Relations is a plus.
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in media relations, communications, or public relations.
- Proven success in managing media campaigns and media outreach.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools (Canva, Photoshop) and video editing (Adobe Premiere, CapCut).
- Ability to analyze social media metrics and adjust strategies accordingly
Skills:
- Strong communication, writing, and editing skills.
- Expertise in social media platforms, media monitoring tools, and digital marketing.
- Excellent networking and project management abilities.
- Design and update content on the KIRCT website, ensuring it aligns with social media efforts.
- Basic knowledge of web design (WordPress).
- Experience with graphic design tools and content management systems (CMS).
