Founded in 2021, O-Trauma Victims Initiative (OTVI) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to helping individuals and communities navigate the aftermath of trauma, particularly in the context of violent conflict, armed groups, kidnapping, rape, child abuse, and natural disasters like floods. We provide trauma healing support, resources, and advocacy for trauma victims, aiming to foster healing, resilience, and long-term recovery. OTVI adopts a multi-faceted approach to trauma support by offering direct support services such as counselling, therapy, and practical assistance to trauma victims. The organization focuses on community engagement to raise awareness about trauma and its effects, building robust support networks. Additionally, OTVI works on advocacy and policy influence to shape policies and legislation that support trauma victims. Through research and education, OTVI aims to better understand trauma and disseminate knowledge to improve support services. We also emphasize partnerships and collaboration with other organizations, healthcare providers, and stakeholders to enhance the comprehensive support available to trauma victims.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Social Media Strategy Development:

    • Develop a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with OTVI’s mission, vision, and goals.

    • Identify key target audiences and create tailored content strategies to engage them effectively.

  2. Platform Setup and Optimisation:

    • Create and optimise social media profiles across relevant platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, and LinkedIn).

    • Ensure all profiles are consistent with OTVI’s brand identity.

  3. Content Creation and Management:

    • Develop a content calendar focusing on awareness campaigns, educational content, survivor stories, and advocacy efforts.

    • Create and curate high-quality content, including graphics, videos, and blog posts.

  4. Community Engagement:

    • Foster and grow OTVI’s online community by responding to comments and messages and engaging with followers.

    • Implement strategies to increase follower growth and engagement.

  5. Campaign Management:

    • Plan and execute social media campaigns to support fundraising, advocacy, and awareness initiatives.

    • Utilise relevant hashtags, trends, and partnerships to maximise reach.

  6. Analytics and Reporting:

    • Monitor social media performance using analytics tools and provide regular reports on key metrics (engagement, reach, and follower growth).

    • Adjust strategies based on data insights to improve effectiveness.

  7. Collaboration and Training:

    • Work closely with OTVI’s leadership and other team members to align social media efforts with organisational objectives.

    • Provide training and guidance to internal staff on social media best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a social media consultant or in a similar role, preferably in the non-profit sector.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
  • Excellent content creation skills, including writing, graphic design, and video production.
  • Ability to develop and implement successful social media strategies from scratch.
  • Familiarity with social media analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Hootsuite).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with organisations focused on trauma, mental health, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of SEO, digital marketing, and online fundraising.

Compensation: Compensation is commensurate with experience and will be discussed during the interview.
