PressOne Africa is an early-stage startup helping entrepreneurs retain their customers, through a centralised voice communication platform. We are on a mission to help entrepreneurs across Africa build more customer-centric businesses.

  • In this dynamic role, you'll be the voice of PressOne Africa on social media.
  • Your mission is to build an active and engaged community of entrepreneurs, founders, and small business owners on Facebook and LinkedIn.
  • We're seeking a social media enthusiast with a passion for fostering conversations and connecting with our target audience.

To Carry Out Your Role

  • Develop and execute a social media strategy to boost engagement and community growth.
  • Create captivating content (text, images, short videos) that resonates with business owners and sparks discussion.
  • Actively engage with followers, respond to comments, and foster a sense of community around our brand.
  • Track and analyze social media metrics, using insights to refine your approach and demonstrate the impact of your efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Content team to repurpose website content (blog posts, etc.) for social media.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Passionate about social media and building online communities (minimum 3 year of experience in social media management or related role).
  • Excellent writer with the ability to craft compelling social copy for different platforms.
  • Strong understanding of Facebook and LinkedIn, both their algorithms and how to spark conversation with a professional audience.
  • Data-driven mindset – you love analysing metrics to drive strategy.
  • A creative thinker who can come up with out-of-the-box ideas to increase engagement.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Content Creation: Develop a social content calendar including a mix of original posts, curated content, and engagement-focused prompts.
  • Community Management: Actively engage with followers, responding to questions and comments in a timely manner.
  • Social Listening: Monitor social conversations about PressOne Africa, entrepreneurship, and related topics.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Track key social media metrics (reach, engagement, clicks, etc.), providing regular reports with insights.
  • Trend Spotting: Stay up-to-date on relevant social media trends and adjust strategies as needed.

Requirements

What You Should Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (preferred).
  • 3+ years of proven experience managing social media for businesses (ideally in the B2B or tech space).
  • Strong understanding of social media analytics and reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with basic design tools (e.g., Canva) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
