About the Role

We are seeking a Field Technical Support Specialist to provide onsite technical assistance for IT systems, hardware, and applications in field operations. This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining equipment, and ensuring reliable IT services to support day-to-day field activities. The successful candidate will act as the first point of contact for field staff, escalating complex issues when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide onsite technical support for field users, hardware, and applications.
  2. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to laptops, printers, mobile devices, and connectivity.
  3. Support installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment in field locations.
  4. Assist with network connectivity, VPN, and remote access troubleshooting.
  5. Monitor and report recurring field IT issues, escalating to higher-level support when required.
  6. Document incidents, solutions, and field IT procedures.
  7. Ensure compliance with IT security and company standards in field operations.
  8. Collaborate with central IT teams for system upgrades, patches, and new deployments.
  9. Provide basic user training and guidance on IT tools and best practices.
  10. Expected Service Delivery Expertise for Information Management and Records/Document Control (extracted from SOW)

Requirements

  1. HND/Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  2. 5+ years’ experience in IT support, preferably in field/remote environments.
  3. Basic knowledge of hardware troubleshooting, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and common applications.
  4. Familiarity with networking basics (LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN).
  5. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  6. Willingness to work in field/remote environments with minimal supervision.
  7. Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Fundamentals are an advantage.
