The Women and Children Health Empowerment Foundation (WACHEF) based in Jalingo, Taraba State, is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) registered to practice in Nigeria. The NGO works in partnership with public, private, and other non-government organizations to contribute to achieving equitable, sustainable, and quality healthcare delivery in Nigeria. It was registered with Taraba State Government in 2001 and with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of Nigeria in August 2005. Our vision is to ensure universal access to quality health care and social services among the general population, especially women and children. WACHEF is a member of World Hepatis Alliance (WHA), International Alliance of Patients` Organization (IAPO), Tuberculosis Network of Nigeria, African Liver Patients Association (ALPA), Association of OVC NGOs in Nigeria (AONN) among others. The organization has implemented several projects under World Bank, Global Fund, BMGF etc. WACHEF is expecting an award from Pro-Health International with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (“USAID”) towards implementing the Integrated Child Healthcare and Social Services Award (ICHSSA4) project in Taraba State.
Role Description
- This role requires contributing to the communications efforts of the organization, including public relations, internal communications, and marketing across all WACHEF’s social media channels.
- The candidate will be required to support our internal and external communications strategies create captivating content, disseminate publicity materials across social media platforms, respond to inquiries from the public and media, and coordinate events to improve visibility and reputation.
- The individual must be a critical and analytical thinker.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the WACHEF’s social media communications.
- Design/curate and disseminate distinct types of content across all organizational social media channels to improve visibility and reputation.
- Respond to media inquiries and arrange interviews for the organization.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with journalists, and a media database.
- Provide support to press relations communications.
- Provide support to creating engaging content to meet internal communications goals.
- Maintain records of media coverage and collate analytics and metrics to glean insights and refine communications strategy to improve performance.
- Ensure videos are visually and verbally consistent with the WACHEF policy.
- Collaborate with other members of the production team to bring projects to completion.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree / HND with 1 - 2 years experience.
