We are a start-up media company looking to touch areas in the Nigerian market not normally visited or improve on areas we think Nigerians aren't too interested.
WE NEED AN IMMEDIATE STARTER; DO NOT APPLY IF YOU CANNOT START IMMEDIATELY.
The position is a 5-day-a-week, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. office attendance. There will be no remote working involved.
We are looking for a writer to focus on researching and writing about religion and how it has negatively impacted Nigeria and Africa. You must be irreligious, someone who does not conform to religion. Given the sensitivity, we will not hire a religious person for this position. Your research/writing will involve a lot of religious negativity.
You must also be camera-friendly. You will present some of your work on camera, which will be released on our YouTube channel. You will also sometimes go out with our cameraman and run vox pop, presenting other documentaries we may be shooting. In conclusion, this is more of a creative, artistic, and writer/researcher position.
First things first: You should read the job description. This is a position for someone who is an atheist, irreligious, or someone who can separate their beliefs from their job. Given the religious sensitivity of the role, you will not be employed if you are religious.
We seek to hire a writer/researcher to focus mainly on religion and its impact on Nigeria and Africa. You will come up with true stories on the harmful impact religion has caused on the continent and the world. You will also look at the positives of religion. You must be irreligious/atheistic or someone who can separate their religion from their work.
A writer/researcher who will look deep into their creative mind, connect with our foundation as a company, and come up with continuous organic content penned down in a very captivating manner, which we will then transform into short videos/plays and other content to feed our audiences on the various social media platforms, especially YouTube. The ideal candidate should be an ardent reader, have a flawless command of the English language (without putting up a fake foreign accent), be a creative writer, and have a great understanding of geopolitics, social media, and the entertainment industry. You will be given topics, some of which you will have to come up with yourself; this is where your creativity comes into play. The topics may not be about Nigeria. You will have a good understanding of social media. Be camera-friendly, as you may need to present some of your work on camera, in the studio and public.
