Job Description

  • We are seeking a talented Regional Correspondent to cover the South East and South South Nigeria regions. In this role, you will be responsible for reporting on business news, market developments, and economic trends, specifically in the South East and South-South regions of Nigeria, including states such as Rivers, Delta, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Enugu, Anambra, and others.
  • Your role will involve conducting in-depth research, producing high-quality written content, and engaging with key stakeholders to provide valuable insights to our readership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and report on business news, market trends, and economic developments in the South East and South-South regions of Nigeria.
  • Produce high-quality written content, including articles, reports, and analyses, focusing on the business landscape in the region.
  • Conduct interviews with local entrepreneurs, business leaders, and industry experts to gather insights and perspectives.
  • Monitor and report on regulatory changes, policy developments, and market dynamics affecting businesses in the South East and South-South regions of Nigeria.
  • Collaborate with the editorial team to ensure content delivery accuracy, relevance, and timeliness.
  • Engage with our audience through various social media platforms to foster discussion and interaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in English Language, Mass Communication, Journalism, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in financial journalism, business analysis, or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of Nigerian markets, economic indicators, and business dynamics, particularly in the SW Nigeria region.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with content management systems.
  • Previous experience covering specific industries or sectors within the Southeastand South-South Nigeria region.
