Objectives:

  • To identify and evaluate the latest technologies, assessing their potential for strategic advantage and business impact.
  • To collaborate closely with executive leadership, business units, and stakeholders to understand their technology needs and drive technology-enabled business initiatives.
  • To provide strong leadership and guidance to the technology teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
  • To accelerate innovation initiatives to enhance our products, services, and processes for optimum efficiency.
  • To manage relationships with technology vendors and partners, evaluating and selecting the most suitable solutions and services.
  • To oversee the development and implementation of scalable and secure technology systems, software solutions and infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the company’s product, engineering, and technology roadmaps. Develop technical aspects of the company’s strategy to ensure alignment with business goals and broader technology strategy.
  • Discover and implement new technologies that yield competitive advantage.
  • Supervise system infrastructure to ensure functionality and efficiency.
  • Build quality assurance and data protection processes.
  • Represent the technology team by communicating direction and data-driven insights to leadership peers, customers, partners, and company’s Board of Directors.
  • Use stakeholders’ feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology.
  • Communicate technology strategy to partners and investors.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy tailored to the company's business objectives, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Create and manage the technology budget, optimising resource allocation and ensuring cost-effective solutions.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of robust technical architectures, ensuring alignment with business requirements, security standards and industry’s best practices.
  • Establish and maintain efficient and reliable technology operations, including systems infrastructure, network, data management and security protocols for high performance, uptime, and data integrity.
  • Stay aware of the latest tech advancements to provide strategic insights and recommendations for maintaining our technological edge. 
  • Present reports on the company’s technology status, goals and or progress.
  • Create and oversee high-level KPIs for IT department.
  • Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and training IT managers.
  • Foster a culture of strategic ownership, scrappiness, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership, software engineering and architecture, including full stack development.
  • A master’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP, AWS and/or CISSP.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies for software development/delivery.
  • Domain expertise in IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS products
  • Proven experience as a CTO or similar leadership role.
  • Understanding of budgets and business planning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior executives.
  • Proficient in risk mitigation and data security of digital assets.
  • Ability to conduct technological analyses and research.
