Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Computing, Networking, and IT Support Instructor to teach foundational and advanced concepts in IT systems, networking, and technical support. The ideal candidate will have real-world experience in IT and a passion for empowering learners with the skills needed to thrive in technology support roles. You will deliver hands-on instruction, foster student engagement, and prepare students for industry-standard certifications.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver courses on computing, networking, and IT support, covering topics such as:Operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS)
- Networking fundamentals (LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Hardware troubleshooting and repair
- IT support best practices and customer service
- Cloud technologies and virtualization (e.g., AWS, Azure, VMware)
- Cybersecurity basics and IT compliance
- Create engaging, hands-on learning experiences that simulate real-world IT environments.
- Prepare students for certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar credentials.
- Adapt instructional methods to meet the diverse needs of learners, including those with little or no prior technical experience.
- Provide personalized feedback and support to help students succeed academically and professionally.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure course content aligns with industry standards and emerging technologies.
- Stay updated on IT trends and incorporate relevant advancements into the curriculum.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in IT, networking, and/or technical support roles.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts, operating systems, and hardware/software troubleshooting.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, or equivalent.
- Experience teaching or mentoring in a professional or academic setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Advanced certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
- Experience with teaching platforms and tools (e.g., virtual labs, simulation software).
- Familiarity with IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
- Knowledge of emerging technologies like IoT, cloud computing, or cybersecurity.
