Role Description

  • This is a full-time on-site role as a Data Center Infrastructure O&M Management Engineer located in Lagos.
  • As a Data Center Infrastructure O&M Management Engineer, you wilbe responsible for managing and maintaining the operation and maintenance of data center infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and efficiency.
  • You wilalso monitor and troubleshoot data center equipment, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and collaborate with cross-functionateams to optimize data center operations.

Job responsibilities:

  • Develop and monitor the IT equipment installation process and ensure that the vendor (Party B) strictly adheres to the specifications
  • Manage IT equipment installers, including scheduling, assigning tasks, and monitoring the quality of work
  • Review and approve IT equipment installation plans to ensure compliance with data center regulations and security requirements
  • Supervise the whole process of IT equipment installation, cabling, configuration, and testing to ensure that the acceptance specifications are met.
  • Monitor the spare parts replacement process, including fault diagnosis, spare parts application, replacement, and test verification.
  • Performs routine inspections of data center equipment to ensure that alequipment is operating properly and capacity requirements are met.
  • Quickly respond to and handle emergencies and faults to ensure the stability and security of the equipment room.
  • Review and optimize the spare parts management system to improve the spare parts utilization and replacement efficiency.
  • Coordinate with the supplier (Party B) to maintain devices and rectify faults, and ensure that the specified process and time requirements are complied with.
  • Regularly assess the quality of work performed by suppliers, provide feedback and drive improvement
  • Manage the internaIT O&M team and train team members to master the latest IT equipment management and troubleshooting skills.
  • Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for IT equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Work with Procurement to ensure that purchased IT equipment and spare parts meet the technicarequirements and compatibility standards of the data center

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Network Engineering or related field
  • Data center IT O&M experience preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of installation, configuration and maintenance processes for servers, storage and networking equipment
  • IT project management experience, familiar with the planning and execution of IT equipment installation projects
  • Excellent people management skills with the ability to effectively manage and coordinate installers and technicians
  • In-depth knowledge of data center operationasecurity practices and procedures
  • Professionacertifications, such as CCNA, CCNP, MCSE, and ITIL
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, PPT, Excel, etc.
  • Excellent vendor management skills, with experience managing IT outsourcing services
  • Strong problem analysis, problem solving and decision making skills with a strong sense of responsibility
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and project management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly in emergency situations
  • Accepting emergency handling faults during non-working hour
  • Excellent problem-solving and analyticaskills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Attention to detaiand ability to work in a fast-paced environment
