JOB SUMMARY
- We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Hardware Support Technician to provide technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for a variety of computer hardware and peripheral devices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing hardware issues, performing repairs and upgrades, and ensuring optimal device performance across the organization or client base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware-related issues on desktops, laptops, servers, and network devices.
- Perform routine hardware maintenance and ensure equipment is operating efficiently.
- Respond to support tickets and service requests in a timely manner, both onsite and remotely.
- Replace defective components and perform hardware upgrades as required.
- Document hardware issues, solutions, and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware procurement and warranty-related services.
- Assist in hardware deployment for new staff or new office setups.
- Support software installation and basic OS configuration as it relates to hardware compatibility.
- Educate users on best practices to prevent damage and ensure longevity of equipment.
- Maintain compliance with organizational IT policies and security procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
- OND/HND/BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1–3 years experience in hardware support, IT helpdesk, or technical field services.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, peripherals, and diagnostic tools.
- Experience with various brands including HP, Dell, Lenovo, and networking hardware is an advantage.
- Understanding of Windows OS and basic networking concepts.
