Description
- Oversee the articulation and development of the IT strategy and ensure alignment with the company’s corporate strategy and business goals.
- Provide overall guidance, leadership support and direction in the execution of the division’s functions and activities.
- Determine the company’s short- and long-term ICT needs and develop overall strategies to meet needs.
- Coordinate the development of the division’s business plans and work programs.
- Coordinate the development and enforcement of IT strategy standards, policies, and procedures that ensure confidentiality, integrity, availability, and security of corporate data and information.
- Oversee the acquisition and management of relevant and up-to-date IT infrastructure to support the company’s operations and activities.
- Ensure that the company’s infrastructural facilities are adequate, functional, secure, and able to support the company’s business processes.
- Oversee allocation/ distribution of ICT resources and ensure adequate provision of IT support services for the company’s operations.
- Oversee and coordinate the company’s information system environment and ensure consistent IT infrastructure and system availability to support business operations.
- Coordinate and manage the development of IT business solutions ensuring optimal leverage of technology to support business operations.
- Ensure adequate management of ICT assets of the company and availability of ICT devices to relevant end users.
- Coordinate the management of enterprise data and information.
- Ensure availability of effective company-wide end-user support, monitor performance, and manage IT customer satisfaction.
- Oversee the development and implementation of a disaster recovery plan that ensures timely and continuous system availability at all times.
- Oversee the development and implementation of adequate information security/privacy and data protection strategies and controls.
- Coordinate IT activities to ensure the continuing relevance and alignment of current operations, practices, and processes with the leading global practices.
- Build and manage appropriate business relations with relevant ICT vendors and suppliers to ensure effective delivery.
- Coordinate and supervise the administration of network security.
- Coordinate all IT projects from the planning to the implementation phase.
- Ensure synergy and collaboration in interdepartmental activities and communication to facilitate effective and smooth running of the department.
- Communicate division strategies, directives, and objectives to staff.
- Oversee the day-to-day management and administration of the division’s activities.
- Prepare and submit periodic management reports on the performance and activities of the division.
- Oversee the development of the division’s budget and monitor its implementation.
- Continually review and assess the effectiveness and efficiency of the division and identify improvement opportunities.
- Manage the human and material resources of the division to optimize performance and enhance output.
Requirements
- First degree or its equivalent in Computer Science/Engineering or a related discipline
- Postgraduate or professional qualification in IT
- 10 years of experience in the IT function of a Power company or an organization
- Solid knowledge of the role of IT in the achievement of a company’s business objectives
- Good understanding of the workings of relevant facilities/infrastructure, IT management processes/procedures, practices/ methodologies, IT security systems and applications (enterprise system etc.)
- Good understanding and working knowledge of IT software/systems’ development life cycle
- Good understanding of the Power industry specified by its IT requirements, key trends/developments, issues and challenges etc.
- Strong appreciation of the operations of a meter plant as well as the IT environment of the plant
- Excellent IT project planning and management skills
