In 2010, LAPO MfB obtained the approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to operate as a state microfinance bank and in 2012, it got an approval as a national microfinance bank. Over the years, LAPO MfB has emerged as a leading institution delivering a range of financial services to over a million people in Nigeria. Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the MIS strategy in alignment with the organization's overall goals and objectives. This includes identifying opportunities to leverage technology to improve business processes, enhance decision-making, and gain a competitive advantage.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage the MIS team, which may include IT professionals, analysts, and technicians. This involves setting goals, providing guidance and mentorship, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the MIS budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to support the organization's technology needs. This includes making informed decisions about hardware and software purchases, vendor contracts, and staffing requirements.
  • Technology Infrastructure: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, and communication systems. This involves ensuring that the infrastructure is reliable, secure, and scalable to meet the organization's needs.   
  • Software Applications: Manage the selection, implementation, and maintenance of software applications that support the organization's business processes. This includes working with vendors, customizing software, and providing user training and support.
  • Data Management: Develop and implement data management policies and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and security. This includes overseeing data collection, storage, retrieval, and analysis.
  • Cybersecurity: Ensure the security of the organization's information systems and data by implementing appropriate cybersecurity measures. This includes conducting risk assessments, developing security policies, and monitoring systems for potential threats.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with technology vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring that services are delivered according to agreed-upon terms.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards related to data privacy, security, and technology use.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to understand their information needs and provide technology solutions that support their goals.
