University Press PLC (UPPLC) was founded in 1949 under the name of Oxford University Press Nigeria, and has grown to become one of the oldest, most experienced and the Nation’s Foremost Publishers of materials for educational and for general reading. Job Description
- Plan, manage, and oversee the company’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networks.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of IT staff to ensure timely support and service delivery.
- Ensure the security of IT systems through effective cybersecurity measures, data protection protocols, and backup processes.
- Support the company’s digital transformation initiatives, including e-commerce and ERP platforms.
- Collaborate with various departments to understand IT needs and provide effective technical solutions.
- Oversee IT procurement and liaise with vendors, service providers, and external consultants.
- Monitor system performance, conduct regular audits, and ensure compliance with company and regulatory policies.
- Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices to improve efficiency.
- Prepare reports on system efficiency, IT performance, and project status for senior management.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Qualification & Required Skills
- A relevant First Degree (BSc. / HND) in Computer Science / Information Technology with a minimum of Second-Class Lower Division / Lower Credit.
- Minimum of 5–10 years relevant experience in a similar position
- Professional certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA, Microsoft, ITIL) or related are an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of network administration, server management, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems.
- Experience managing or supporting ERP systems and digital platforms (including e-commerce).
- Strong leadership, analytical, and interpersonal skills with a focus on service delivery and innovation.
- Ability to communicate effectively and manage a team in a dynamic environment
- Not more than 45 years of age.
