Job Overview

  • Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Officer will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for all hardware, software, and network systems within the hospital.
  • This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure, enabling efficient and reliable service delivery across all departments.

Key Responsibilities
Hardware and Software Support:

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer hardware and software, including desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
  • Maintain and update software applications, operating systems, and security patches.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Inventory management of hardware and software assets, ensuring proper documentation and tracking.

Networking Support:

  • Maintain and troubleshoot local area network (LAN) and wireless network infrastructure.
  • Configure and manage network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Monitor network performance and identify potential bottlenecks or security risks.
  • Assist in the implementation of new network technologies and upgrades.

IT Support:

  • Provide technical support to hospital staff and users, resolving issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
  • Develop and maintain IT documentation, including user manuals, troubleshooting guides, and system configurations.
  • Assist with the implementation of new IT systems and projects.
  • Ensure compliance with IT security policies and procedures.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the IT Manageron strategic initiatives and projects.
  • Stay updatedon the latest IT trends and technologies.
  • Perform other dutiesas assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar IT support role, preferably within a healthcare environment.
  • Strong understanding of hardware and software troubleshooting techniques.
  • Proficient in networking concepts and technologies, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
  • Experience with various operating systems, including Windows and macOS.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
