Key Responsibilities
- Provides technical support in identifying, investigating, and resolving user problems with computer software and hardware.
- Ensures system security through access controls, backups, and firewalls and ensures security is not breached or compromised.
- Researches and proposes solutions to IT-related problems.
- Serves as software liaison for staff and management.
- Troubleshoots issues and performs system tests to resolve issues and errors.
- Coordinates with line manager and end-users to identify systems problems and requirements, develop processing procedures and systems modifications, and prioritises responses as required.
- Ensures adequate management of and administration of server hardware and software.
- Installs and configures hardware and software.
- Provides recommendations for office software and equipment purchases.
- Works with service providers service to repair or replace defective products or malfunctioning software.
- Monitors performance and maintains systems according to requirements.
- Stays updated on technology innovations and trends.
- Drafts informational materials and graphics to explain systems to staff.
- Extracts accurate information for users on core business applications.
- Sets up accounts and workstations for new hires.
- Creates filing systems for electronic file storage.
- Performs word processing and related clerical tasks.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Information Systems from a reputable and accredited university.
- 2 - 4 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar role
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems.
- In-depth understanding of programming, computer science, and digital security.
