Content Marketing and Operations Lead at Artdey Africa

Artdey AfricaLagos, Nigeria Digital Marketing
Full Time
ArtDey is a Lagos-based online marketplace curating high-quality art from diverse African talents. Going beyond commerce, we propel African art onto the global stage, ensuring sustainable income for our esteemed artists.

  • This isn't your typical "creative job." This is your chance to build something from the ground up with one of Lagos's most exciting online art galleries.
  • artdey is redefining how African art reaches the world. Founded in 2020, we've grown from 3 artists to 50+ phenomenal creators from Nigeria and Ghana. Our work has been featured on Apple TV's "Truth Be Told" and Peacock's "Bel-Air." We've sold hundreds of pieces to collectors globally. We run pop-ups that bring art to unexpected places; bars, public spaces, anywhere people gather, because we believe everyone can own original African art.
  • Now we need someone to help us scale—someone creative, scrappy, and ready to wear multiple hats.

What You'll Actually Do

Content & Storytelling (50%)

  • Run our social media like it's your own personal brand (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Twitter)
  • Create newsletters that people actually want to read
  • Interview artists and turn their stories into content gold (social posts, blog articles, email campaigns)
  • Plan and execute campaigns that get people talking about African art
  • Experiment with new platforms and formats (video, podcasts, whatever works)

Operations & Making Things Happen (50%)

  • Source and curate new artworks for the gallery
  • Build relationships with artists and manage onboarding
  • Handle inventory, photography, and product listings
  • Coordinate shipping, packaging, and delivery logistics
  • Manage art licensing opportunities
  • Help organise and execute pop-ups that bring art to the people
  • Schedule viewings and oversee installations at customer locations

You're Perfect for This If:

Must-Haves:

  • Fresh graduate or 0-2 years experience (we want hunger, not bureaucracy)
  • You live on social media and understand what makes content go viral
  • Exceptional written English—you can write captions, emails, and stories that people actually read
  • Basic phone photography skills
  • Comfortable with tech tools (Shopify, Substack, Canva, Google Suite)
  • Lagos-based or willing to relocate (accommodation provided)

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Background in marketing, communications, art, or related fields
  • Experience creating content (personal blog, TikTok, Instagram with decent following)
  • Basic design skills (Canva, Photoshop)
  • Knowledge of or genuine interest in African art and culture
