DT Cluster Performance Officer at Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company

Role Purpose

  • To manage and optimize distribution transformers (DTs). Responsibilities include meter validation, energy accounting, customer engagement, revenue protection, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards.

Role Accountabilities

  • Carry out disconnection and reconnection of electricity connections.
  • Validate and evaluate all metering assets and customers connected to the assigned DT.
  • Oversee meter validation and assessment to ensure meter health, accuracy, and tamper prevention.
  • Account for energy delivered to transformers.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to proactively identify and address issues.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on DT performance, collection rates, and validation activities.
  • Conduct electricity connection assessments to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Manage and optimize customer DT connections to balance loads and minimize technical losses.
  • Engage customers on proper meter usage, energy efficiency, and compliance requirements.
  • Detect and report cases of energy theft, illegal connections, and tampering, ensuring prompt corrective action.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (billing, customer service, and technical support) to resolve customer issues and improve service delivery.
  • Supervise field technicians or contractors working within assigned DT clusters to ensure adherence to company standards.
  • Recommend operational improvements to reduce losses and enhance transformer performance.
  • Ensure all DT activities comply with regulatory guidelines and company policies.
  • Enforce and maintain safety standards during all field operations to protect staff, customers, and equipment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of OND in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding targets in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in meter management, customer validation, and energy loss reduction.
  • Sound understanding of Nigeria’s electricity distribution landscape, technical capacity to manage metering equipment, and the ability to adapt to innovation.
