IKRA MULTIMEDIA LIMITED is an emerging media company with radio station dedicated to farming and agri-business in general. The company is seeking a young and energetic professional to manage the dissemination of agribusiness value chain through radio programs within Nigeria specifically for agrarian communities.

Key Collaborators: Administration & Finance Manager, Program Manager, News Editor

Job Summary:

The Head of Station (HoS) is the chief executive responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational success of Himma Radio as an agricultural-focused broadcaster. The HoS ensures the station delivers high-quality, mission-driven content that serves farmers, agribusinesses, and rural communities while maintaining financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, and organizational growth.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Vision

  • Develop and execute the station’s strategic plan in alignment with the agricultural mission and IKRA Multimedia’s corporate goals.
  • Drive innovation in programming, technology, and community engagement to enhance the station’s impact.
  • Represent the station to stakeholders (government, donors, agri-partners, and listeners).

Operational Management

  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring seamless coordination between programming, news, technical, and administrative teams.
  • Approve schedules, budgets, and major operational decisions.
  • Ensure 24/7 broadcast uptime and resolve technical/logistical disruptions.

Financial Oversight & Sustainability

  • Collaborate with the Finance & Administration Manager to:
    • Develop annual budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and revenue growth.
    • Monitor financial performance (revenue, expenses, grants) and adjust strategies.
    • Secure funding via sponsorships, grants, and partnerships with agri-businesses/NGOs.
  • Ensure transparency and compliance in financial reporting.

Content & Programming Governance

  • Supervise the Program Manager to ensure agricultural content is relevant, accurate, and impactful.
  • Approve major programming initiatives (e.g., farmer education campaigns, market price bulletins).
  • Uphold editorial standards and NBC/regulatory compliance.

Compliance & Regulatory Affairs

  • Ensure adherence to NBC licensing, broadcasting laws, and public file requirements.
  • Mitigate risks (legal, technical, reputational) through proactive policies.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor departmental heads (Programming, News, Engineering, Admin/Finance).
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, creativity, and accountability.
  • Resolve staff conflicts and ensure adherence to HR policies.

Community & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Strengthen ties with farmer groups, agri-cooperatives, and development agencies.
  • Launch outreach initiatives (field visits, agricultural fairs, on-air forums).
  • Serve as the station’s spokesperson for media and public events.

Technical & Infrastructure Management

  • Oversee maintenance of broadcast equipment, transmitters, and IT systems.
  • Approve upgrades to studios, digital platforms, and transmission infrastructure.

9. Reporting & Accountability

  • Submit quarterly performance reports to the CEO (financials, audience metrics, challenges).
  • Present to the Station Board on strategic progress.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Growth in rural listenership and engagement.
  • Revenue diversification (e.g., grants, ads, agro-partnerships).
  • 100% compliance with NBC and corporate policies.
  • Team productivity and staff retention rates.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s in  Media Management, Business, or related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years in media/agricultural leadership, with P&L oversight.
  • Skills:
    • Strategic planning and financial acumen.
    • Knowledge of agricultural trends and rural development.
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management.
    • Crisis-resolution and decision-making.

Work Relationships:

  • CEO: Reports directly, aligns station goals with corporate vision.
  • Finance & Admin Manager: Collaborates on budgets, audits, and HR matters.
  • Program/News Teams: Ensures content aligns with mission.
