Job Description

  • The IT Officer will be responsible for managing the organization's IT systems, ensuring their smooth operation, and supporting staff in resolving technical issues.
  • This role involves maintaining hardware, software, and network systems, implementing IT policies, and ensuring data security.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, networks, and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
  • Monitor and maintain the organization’s IT infrastructure to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Manage user accounts, email systems, and access permissions across company platforms.
  • Ensure the security of IT systems through regular updates, patches, and antivirus measures.
  • Conduct routine data backups and recovery operations to safeguard critical company information.
  • Assist in the procurement and installation of IT equipment and software.
  • Train staff on the proper use of IT systems and tools, enhancing technical proficiency.
  • Maintain an inventory of all IT equipment and ensure their optimal functionality.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and service providers for IT support and solutions.
  • Develop and implement IT policies, guidelines, and best practices for the organization.
  • Monitor emerging technologies and recommend updates to improve efficiency and performance.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Certifications like CCNA, ITIL, or CompTIA are an advantage.
  • Experience: At least 3 years in IT support, system administration, or a related role.
  • Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS), office productivity tools, and enterprise software.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, hardware, and software troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Azure, AWS).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to assist non-technical users.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work under minimal supervision.
  • Awareness of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
