Job Description
- The IT Officer will be responsible for managing the organization's IT systems, ensuring their smooth operation, and supporting staff in resolving technical issues.
- This role involves maintaining hardware, software, and network systems, implementing IT policies, and ensuring data security.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, networks, and systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Monitor and maintain the organization’s IT infrastructure to ensure minimal downtime.
- Manage user accounts, email systems, and access permissions across company platforms.
- Ensure the security of IT systems through regular updates, patches, and antivirus measures.
- Conduct routine data backups and recovery operations to safeguard critical company information.
- Assist in the procurement and installation of IT equipment and software.
- Train staff on the proper use of IT systems and tools, enhancing technical proficiency.
- Maintain an inventory of all IT equipment and ensure their optimal functionality.
- Collaborate with external vendors and service providers for IT support and solutions.
- Develop and implement IT policies, guidelines, and best practices for the organization.
- Monitor emerging technologies and recommend updates to improve efficiency and performance.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Certifications like CCNA, ITIL, or CompTIA are an advantage.
- Experience: At least 3 years in IT support, system administration, or a related role.
- Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS), office productivity tools, and enterprise software.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, hardware, and software troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Azure, AWS).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to assist non-technical users.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work under minimal supervision.
- Awareness of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
