AppZone is a response to the growing need in emerging markets for financial services accessibility to the masses. The company was formed with a genuine belief in Africa’s latent ability to support the home grown production and delivery of world class IT Software for the enhancement of key sectors of the budding economy. AppZone started off primarily as a developer of custom e-Banking and payment software for leading commercial Banks in Nigeria. In less than 3 years, AppZone had accumulated a remarkable asset-base of e-payment software products and intellectual property. In a bid to extend existing payment solutions to smaller scale Financial institutions, AppZone observed the absolute dearth of basic IT infrastructure and commenced a 2 year project to develop a world class yet affordable core Banking platform for Microfinance Banks (MFBs) and other small scale retail financial institutions. The culmination of this project saw AppZone in full ownership of an entire integrated suite of IT infrastructure required for the effective functioning of any modern retail Bank. Today AppZone has consolidated these platforms into a shared and entirely managed Banking and payment automation IT infrastructure under the brand BankOne. AppZone was incorporated in July 2006 as Price and Networks Limited and commenced full operations in June 2008 with a knife edged focus on creating a world class organization and defacto provider of IT software for the financial services industry. Job Description
Systems Administration
- Manage and configure computer systems, servers, and networks to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Execute routine system maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic system issues.
- Assist in system configuration and optimization.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure system reliability.
- Adhere to established security protocols.
IT Infrastructure Management
- Plan, design, and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including networks and servers.
- Support routine infrastructure tasks.
- Assist in maintaining network infrastructure.
- Monitor and report on system performance.
- Collaborate on infrastructure improvement projects.
- Follow established IT policies and procedures.
Backup and Disaster Recovery
- Creating and implementing strategies for data backup, as well as planning for and responding to disasters that may impact IT systems.
- Participate in backup processes and procedures.
- Assist in disaster recovery planning.
- Verify and test backup solutions regularly.
- Collaborate with team members on recovery drills.
- Follow established backup and recovery protocols.
Hardware and Software Support
- Providing technical assistance and support for hardware and software-related issues within an organization.

- Install, update, and maintain software applications.

- Document and escalate complex technical problems.
IT Helpdesk Operations
- Managing the IT helpdesk to provide efficient support for end- users within an organization.

IT Security Awareness and Compliance

Requirements
- BSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering or other related disciplines.
- 2+ years experience in a similar position, handling cloud and on-premises resources with cloud infrastructure competence such as Azure, AWS, GCP, especially in the Fintech, Banking and/or other financial services industry.
- Network infrastructure competence including Cisco, Fortigate, including competence in VMWare, Windows, Linux, Hybrid Architecture, and DevOps methodology competence.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting, reporting skills, Windows Server Administration & and Linux OS administration.
- Excellent verbal and written skills, excellent problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and Leadership skills, report generation skills
- Proven knowledge and competence in the use of Zoho Desk and other ticketing and network performance monitoring tools.
