Job Description
- The IT Advisor - Systems Administration is responsible for planning, coordination, and execution of systems deployed for the Fourth Party Logistics (4PL) service provider contract for the Malaria Component of the Global Fund Grant Cycle 7 (GC7).
- This position requires strong technical expertise, and experience managing and maintaining IT infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, security, and performance.
- The IT Advisor - Systems Administration shall report directly to the Senior Manager MIS/ERP/IT.
Specific Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure Management:
- Support the Senior Manager MIS/ERP/IT in IT Infrastructure Management.
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software components of all IT infrastructure, including servers, storage devices, networking equipment, and operating systems.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure uptime and optimal performance.
- Implement security measures to protect the organization's data and systems from unauthorized access, malware, and other security threats.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
Systems Administration/User Support:
- Develop tools to support operations across the project
- Provide training to end-users, ensuring effective use of information systems.
- Provide technical support to the Project Team on the warehousing and distribution operations.
- Collaborate with other MIS/ERP/IT staff and departments to identify and implement technology solutions that meet project needs.
- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, resolving IT-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to maintain accurate records and facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in systems administration to ensure infrastructure remains current and effective.
Evaluation Method:
- Annual performance appraisals
- Quarterly documented feedback and mentoring discussions
- Quarterly score card of work plan tasks and achievements & Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS or related field. A master degree in related field is a plus.
- 3 years for B.Sc Degree graduate, and 1 year for MSc Degree in relevant role.
- Analytical and problem-solving skill
- Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of IT systems and infrastructure.
- Proficiency in administering Windows Server and cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of networking principles and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and firewalls.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
- The ideal person should be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of multilateral agency guidelines.
- Excellent ability to function in a detail-oriented environment.
- Experience working with donor funded programs is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member.
