Job Description/Responsibilities
- Maintain and administer the network infrastructure, ensuring connectivity, security, and optimal performance.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software systems, including servers, workstations, and peripherals.
- Implement and manage security measures to safeguard the institute's IT infrastructure, including firewalls, antivirus software, and access controls.
- Develop and execute data backup and recovery procedures to safeguard critical information and ensure business continuity.
- Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and offering solutions in a timely manner.
- Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with security standards and efficient use of technology resources.
- Collaborate with external vendors for procurement, maintenance, and support of IT systems and services.
- Conduct training sessions for staff on IT systems, software applications, and security best practices.
- Stay informed about advancements in information technology and recommend innovative solutions to enhance the institute's IT capabilities.
- Work closely with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide tailored solutions to support their objectives.
Job Requirements
- Proficient in various operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix) and a strong understanding of IT infrastructure and networking.
- Experience in configuring, managing, and maintaining servers, networks, and other IT systems.
- Ability to identify and resolve technical issues promptly and efficiently.
- Familiarity with IT security practices, including implementing and maintaining security measures for systems and networks.
- Experience in designing and implementing data backup and recovery strategies.
- Ability to manage and maintain hardware components and software applications.
- Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) and automation tools to streamline processes.
- Experience in managing IT projects, including planning, execution, and documentation.
- Effective communication skills to interact with team members, end-users, and management.
- Ability to adapt to new technologies, updates, and emerging trends in the IT field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and address complex IT issues.
- Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, is an advantage.
