Job Description
- The IT Officer maintains, upgrades, and manages the software, hardware, and networks.
- The IT Officer ensures the security and efficiency of our IT infrastructure, providing technical support and advice to users, and managing IT projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and networks.
- Monitor and maintain network and server performance.
- Provide technical support to staff and troubleshoot hardware and software problems on desktops, laptops, printers, and servers.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and applications.
- Ensure IT security by implementing data backups, antivirus software, and access controls.
- Set up and maintain computer hardware, including servers, desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
- Manage IT inventory and ensure timely upgrades and replacements.
- Implement and enforce IT policies and procedures to maintain compliance and security.
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Implement and monitor security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and information.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand and address their IT needs.
- Plan and execute IT projects, such as upgrades, migrations, and installations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor's Degree / HND in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
- Relevant certification (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is an added advantage.
- 4 - 8 years’ proven experience as an I.T. officer or similar role.
- Strong and adequate knowledge of IT systems, networks, and software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with various operating systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
