Overview:

The IT Support Officer will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to employees, ensuring the smooth running of computer systems, network infrastructure, and software applications. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work well under pressure, and a proactive approach to managing IT issues and solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support: Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues across the organization, both remotely and in person.
  • Install and configure systems: Set up, install, and maintain computers, printers, peripherals, and software applications.
  • Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure: Regularly monitor systems for performance and ensure all equipment is up-to-date and functioning correctly.
  • User training and support: Offer training to employees on new systems, hardware, and software, and ensure they are using IT systems effectively and securely.
  • Manage IT helpdesk: Respond to support requests via email, phone, or helpdesk software, prioritizing and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain security protocols: Ensure the security of systems by updating antivirus software, managing firewalls, and keeping security patches up-to-date.
  • Document IT procedures: Maintain records of IT issues, solutions, and system configurations for future reference.
  • Assist in IT projects: Support larger IT projects, such as software upgrades, network expansions, and system migrations.
  • Inventory management: Track and manage IT hardware and software assets across the organization.
  • Collaborate with vendors: Liaise with external suppliers and service providers for technical support, repairs, and purchasing new equipment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in an IT support role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Mac operating systems, as well as common software applications.
  • Familiarity with hardware setup and repair, including PCs, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical staff.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of IT security protocols and best practices.
