KARKARA Women and Youths Development Initiative is a national Non-for profit, and Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that has been in existence since 2021. It is popularly known with the acronym (KAWODI) and works primarily at national level by undertaking grass root community work in areas such as women and youth empowerment programming, GBV, general protection and case management, Prevention of violence against women and girls programming. (VAWG), peace building, conflict management, prevention and countering violent extremism P/CVE, mainstreaming girl child education, orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) programming, water sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), management capacity building, Agricultural and rural development programs, Etc.

Job Purpose

  • Provide day-to-day IT support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues for staff and other volunteers
  • Set up and maintain computers, printers, and other office equipment.
  • Ensure the NGO's IT systems are up-to-date with security patches, software updates, and backups.
  • Manage network issues, internet connectivity, and data security protocols.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating the Organization’s website
  • Support the management of social media platforms, ensuring they are secure and functional.
  • Develop user guides and tutorials for commonly used software and tools.
  • Assist with implementing IT-related projects, such as database management systems or online fundraising platforms.
  • Provide technical support for virtual meetings, webinars, and events.

Essential criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Knowledge of computer systems and software
  • Knowledge of network and system security
  • Familiarity with hardware and software installation
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to learn quickly and adapt to changing technology
