ipNX Nigeria Limited is a leading provider of infrastructure-based Telecommunications and Information Technology services here in Nigeria. Leveraging more than a decade of experience, the company was formed by the divestment of the telecommunications services division of Telnet Nigeria Limited and has been in operation for many years. ipNX currently provides a range of communications and IT services to Corporate organizations within Nigeria on its IP (Internet Protocol) based communications network using both radio and satellite communications technologies. As part of its growth strategy, ipNX seeks to also extend its services to small and medium sized businesses and residential customers. In the long term, ipNX has determined that it needs also to have a strategic presence in the wire line market to ensure that we will be able to provide future services, which require high bandwidth in the last mile.

Purpose of the Job

  • The Marketing & Communications Lead is responsible for the execution of the company's overall long-term marketing strategy and initiatives.
  • Reporting directly to the Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, he/she will be accountable for the development and successful implementation of all marketing research, campaign plans/programs, branding & product positioning, and product & sales support strategies, while also strongly maintaining key industry & public relations as well as internal engagement.
  • The role is specific to the group master brand and sub-business brands.

Key Activities:

  • Revenue and Equity
  • Tailor marketing strategies across all relevant media to support the company's business objectives
  • Devise creative marketing strategies to increase margin and revenue
  • Implement tactics with sales and product management teams to maximize profit and increase market share while maintaining customer satisfaction
  • Lead brand positioning, service marketing strategies, and corporate brand enhancement initiatives
  • Manage consultancies and creative partners for on-brand, disruptive, sticky content
  • Develop and manage marketing campaigns (above, below, and through the line) for product credibility
  • Ensure consistency of brand's visual identity across all touchpoints
  • Enhance company and product positioning, messaging, and marketing presentations
  • Supervise social media accounts for inspiring, original, and engaging content
  • Manage branding processes for assets like stationery, signage, billboards, etc.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with industry professionals for brand growth
  • Monitor market trends, research consumer insights, and competitors' activities
  • Organize events such as product launches, exhibitions, and photo shoots
  • Support the development of high-impact marketing materials for awareness and win rates
  • Coordinate effective stakeholder management
  • Present analysis of marketing data for future strategies and campaigns
  • Internal Communications Strategy
  • Prepare strategic internal communications plan and policy
  • Interpret authentic employee value proposition
  • Develop disruptive channel mix for content interaction and engagement
  • Ensure a positive employer brand reputation
  • Maintain consistent internal communication reflecting the organization's strategic vision
  • Support social media communications for a strong employee value proposition
  • Analyze monthly staff engagement metrics and trends
  • Provide strategic recommendations for engagement performance
  • Develop and run surveys for employee feedback
  • Content Development, Administration, and Management
  • Develop, edit, and produce communications for various audience segments
  • Review and edit communications for consistent tone of voice
  • Edit, design, and print internal publications with creative execution teams
  • Plan and schedule content across platforms for high reach and engagement
  • Enforce a consistent brand voice
  • Write compelling narratives for events, products, and services
  • Publish content on the company website and blog
  • Develop quarterly newsletter
  • Ensure staff engagement in company initiatives
  • Archive content and performance data for future planning
  • CSR & Sponsorships
  • Develop a corporate responsibility and sustainability strategy aligned with the brand
  • Expand CSR framework to include employees
  • Amplify CSR initiatives using other marketing mix elements
  • Identify events with business value to participate in
  • Set timing of release to coordinate with company events
  • Identify key trends and social conversations for brand engagement
  • Establish relationships with passionate supporters for brand growth
  • Develop impact reports based on participated initiatives
  • Events and Public Relations
  • Design event experiences aligned with the brand strategy
  • Coordinate proprietary events to meet quality expectations
  • Cultivate a network of media practitioners
  • Circulate press releases, monitor brand sentiments, and capture stakeholder feedback
  • Track mentions and alerts for optimal brand reputation
  • Develop a proactive crisis management plan
  • Brand Management
  • Develop brand audit and maintain a consistent brand health tracker
  • Manage brand manual for brand protection
  • Ensure brand compliance and quality in line with the brand manual

Key Competencies
Educational Qualifications & Functional Skills:

  • BA / B.Sc. / HND in Advertising, Mass Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or Marketing
  • Professional qualification from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations or the Chartered Institute of Marketing
  • Masters’ degree in the relevant field is an added advantage
  • Minimum 5 years proven work experience in marketing and corporate communications
  • Understanding of good media communications within a large organization
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Strong communication, documentation, presentation, and speaking skills
  • Embrace change and support change management processes
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, technology-focused environment
  • Ability to identify target audience segments and build content to meet their needs
  • Excellent multitasking, time management, and project management skills
  • Proven ability to develop brand and marketing strategies
  • Excellent understanding of the full marketing mix
