Wakanow.com offers travelers the cheapest available fares for flights, hotel reservations, airport pickups, visa assistance, vacation packages and many other travel services from a broad selection of partners. Established in 2008, Wakanow was founded as Nigeria’s first online travel company to bridge the gap and inefficiencies in Nigeria’s online travel space. Role Summary
- We are seeking a creative and passionate Social Media Specialist to manage and grow Nairabox’s presence across social platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing engaging content, fostering community engagement, and driving brand awareness through authentic storytelling and trend-driven strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute social media strategies that align with Nairabox’s brand and marketing goals.
- Manage daily posting, content scheduling, and audience engagement across platforms (Instagram, X/Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.).
- Collaborate with the content, design, and marketing teams to create visually appealing and impactful posts, videos, and stories.
- Monitor social media trends, pop culture, and conversations to keep Nairabox’s presence timely, relevant, and relatable.
- Engage with followers, respond to comments and inquiries, and nurture a vibrant online community.
- Track and analyze performance metrics (engagement rate, reach, impressions, follower growth, etc.) and prepare weekly/monthly reports.
- Support influencer partnerships and content collaborations that drive brand affinity and ticket sales.
- Contribute creative ideas for campaigns, event promotions, and viral content opportunities.
- Ensure consistent brand voice, messaging, and visual identity across all social channels.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience managing social media accounts for a brand or agency.
- Proven ability to create engaging social media content (visuals, reels, captions, and trends).
- Strong understanding of social media algorithms, analytics, and platform tools (Meta Business Suite, TikTok Analytics, etc.).
- Excellent communication and copywriting skills.
- Passion for entertainment, events, and lifestyle content.
- Creative thinker with a finger on the pulse of Nigerian digital culture and trends.
