Leveraging more than a decade of experience, the company was formed by the divestment of the telecommunications services division of Telnet Nigeria Limited and has been in operation for many years. ipNX currently provides a range of communications and IT services to Corporate organizations within Nigeria on its IP (Internet Protocol) based communications network using both radio and satellite communications technologies. As part of its growth strategy, ipNX seeks to also extend its services to small and medium sized businesses and residential customers. In the long term, ipNX has determined that it needs also to have a strategic presence in the wire line market to ensure that we will be able to provide future services, which require high bandwidth in the last mile.

Description 

  • We are looking for a suitable candidate to fill in the position of a Network Engineer
  • The ideal candidate must have 3-5 years as a Network Engineer in the Telecom Industry.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and maintenance of all elements of the network facilities (including voice systems, data switches and routers, carrier systems, channel service unit/data service units, video systems, local area network connectivity, modems, terminals, fiber optic connectivity, radio and microwave).
  • Prioritize, schedule, and assign the daily work of technicians in a manner that results in excellent service to internal customers. Help prioritize work schedules of technicians to ensure projects are completed on time, while providing prompt daily break/fix service.
  • Develop project plans, provide direction and coordinate project activities associated with the installation, evaluation, implementation and maintenance of operation system software and hardware.
  • Develop project plans, provide direction and coordinate project activities associated with office remodels and movement of groups to new locations. Coordinate work with Facilities Department to minimize disruption.
  • Promote working safely at all times and stress the importance of driving in a safe manner. Have daily tailgate meetings, weekly, and monthly meeting as required with technicians to discuss safety issues.
  • Consult with users to determine system requirements. Evaluate user requests to determine feasibility, costs and time frames.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with hardware, software, carrier, consulting and employee resource vendors to insure that the company’s systems are adequately supported and external influences on the company’s systems are understood and used in planning.
  • Perform supervisory activities, including employee safety, selection and development of employees, employee counseling and motivation and pay administration. Assist in the administration of the department budget and reporting the work performed within the department.
  • Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.

Requirements

  • Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields with 3 - 5 years work experience.
