Telecom Sales Representative at IpNX Nigeria Limited

ipNX Nigeria Limited is a leading provider of infrastructure-based Telecommunications and Information Technology services here in Nigeria. Leveraging more than a decade of experience, the company was formed by the divestment of the telecommunications services division of Telnet Nigeria Limited and has been in operation for many years. ipNX currently provides a range of communications and IT services to Corporate organizations within Nigeria on its IP (Internet Protocol) based communications network using both radio and satellite communications technologies. As part of its growth strategy, ipNX seeks to also extend its services to small and medium sized businesses and residential customers. In the long term, ipNX has determined that it needs also to have a strategic presence in the wire line market to ensure that we will be able to provide future services, which require high bandwidth in the last mile.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit a minimum of 30 subscribers or more every month.
  • Negotiate terms of an agreement to a satisfactory level and close sales with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain and grow a prospect list, submitting a daily pipeline report with 10 unique prospects every day.
  • Carry out route mapping to identify potential and existing customers within a given territory.
  • Cold call potential customers to establish contact.
  • Act effectively as a brand ambassador and be the first point of contact for potential customers.
  • Submit all sales reports weekly.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with the Team Lead and other Sales Representatives.
  • Be polite at all times to customers and report any customer feedback during weekly meetings.
  • Be willing to work at least 3 weekends every month.

Educational Qualifications & Functional Skills

  • HND in Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Sales, or related disciplines.
  • At least 2 years of experience within the telecoms or related space, with knowledge of the retail market, competitor behavior and strategy, including related product dynamics and product management.
  • Understanding of communications networks, experience in a B2B and B2C sales environment, with a consistent track record of achieving product effectiveness and customer experience targets.
  • High level of analytical thinking, ability to gather and analyze information, and provide insight into market trends and customer behavior.
  • Strong organizational skills, multitasking, efficiency, and priority setting.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Exemplary communication skills, both face to face and over the telephone, and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization to favorably project ipNX products and services.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal capabilities and leadership.
